DIRECTOR PROFILES

Colleen Mandicos - Chairperson
Colleen was appointed as Director of MACI in 1989 and Chairperson from October 1998. She is now retired and has over 30 years experience working in the community. Previous employment included Executive Manager Aged and Disability Services with Catholic Care Wollongong and Executive Officer/ Manager with Multicultural Communities Council of the Illawarra. She holds a Master’s Degree in Policy and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sociology from Wollongong University, and a Diploma in Community Management. Past community involvement includes serving on a number of Aged Care and Disability Services Boards of Managements, Illawarra Health Board for 8 years, Homecare State Board for 6 years and a number of State Departments’ Multicultural Committees.
Kerry Kyriakoudes – Vice Chairperson
Kerry was appointed as Director of MACI in 2004. He has been a practicing lawyer for over 30 years predominantly in the area of business, property and estate law and he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Sydney.

Kerry’s past community involvement included a term of 12 years as a councillor on the University of Wollongong Council, 8 years as a Director of the Illawarra Ethnic Communities Council, the last 6 years as its Chairman. Kerry has also been the Secretay of the Cyprian Community of Wollongong and he also served for 6 years as the President of the Federation of Cyprus Communities and Organisations of Australia and New Zealand.

John Ravnjak - Treasurer
John was appointed as Director of MACI in 2015 and Treasurer in 2017. He has over 35 years’ experience in Accountancy and Financial Management roles across numerous industry sectors including, Public Accounting Services, Commercial Property and Finance,  Heavy and Light Manufacturing, Heavy Engineering, Financial Services and the Legal Services Industry. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Wollongong. Past community involvement includes serving as Director and Treasurer of Port Kembla Golf Club Limited on two separate terms.
Frank Bresolin

Frank was appointed as Director of MACI in 2002 and was the HON Treasurer until 2017. He is now retired and had extensive experience as a strategist in electrical maintenance management, procurement and project management at BHP/Bluescope where he worked for almost 40 years.

Arthur Mandicos
Arthur was appointed as Director of MACI in November 1990. He is now retired and had over 30 years experience in management at BHP/Bluescope with a focus on Project Management, risk assessment and large capital projects, including visiting plants and/or mines in North and South America and Asia for auditing and purchasing purposes. He has Diploma qualification in Metallurgy and Welding Supervisor. Past community involvement includes the Greek Independent community and Church for over 20 years and Illawarra Migration Museum.
Glenda Pearce
Glenda was appointed to the Board in 2007. She has over 40years of experience working in both government and non-government disability services in management / leadership positions. Glenda holds tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Community Services Management and Assessment Training and Development. She has extensive governance experience holding boardmembership on several community organisations.
John-Paul Troiani
John-Paul was appointed as a Director of MACI in 2012.  He has almost 30 years experience in the health and community care sectors in aged care, rehabilitation and dementia care.  John Paul holds an honours bachelor’s degree in psychology, master of arts degree in clinical psychology, graduate certificate in management and master of science degree in gerontology and rehabilitation studies all awarded by the University of Wollongong. He is an active member of his local Catholic Church parish community and volunteers for the Shellharbour Junior Life Saving Club as a nippers’ BBQ assistant.
Joe Gaudiosi
Joe was appointed director of MACI in 2015. He is a member of the Australia New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and has a bachelor degree in Management & Accounting from the University of Wollongong. After 7 years working for 2 of the big international chartered accounting firms, Joe has 18 years experience in the aged care industry working as CFO and CEO in 2 of the larger community not for profit aged care organisations in NSW. He has also been a member of ACSA working parties in both their Finance and Housing Committees. Joe is the son of Italian immigrants and aware of the issues and difficulties faced by these communities as they approach and enter aged care.

 

 

Gabe Bresolin
Gabe was appointed director of MACI in 2016. Gabe is recently retired after an extensive career in Work Health & Safety. Gabe worked as a safety officer for AIS/BHP Port Kembla where he gained invaluable experience in safety management skills. In 1986 he was appointed as senior consultant/auditor with the National Safety council of Australia for 6 years and then ran his own WHS Consultancy/Training business for 9 years. He then sold the training business but remained as the Manager for 9 years where he provided WHS/Training services to the Disability sector during that period. Gabe has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Science WHS from the University of Western Sydney and gained the highest status as a member of Safety Institute of Australia that of Chartered Fellow of the Institute and was also chair of the local branch. Gabe is on the board of the Fraternity Club and has been a director since 2011.
